The IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM provides immunizations to all ages. Through collaboration with public and private providers, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders, we work to increase immunization rates for all Georgians and decrease the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases. Our goal is for every individual to be age-appropriately immunized through patient education and the administration of recommended vaccines. We adhere to the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. We also utilize the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions & Services (GRITS). The Georgia Immunization Registry is a birth to death registry and is designed to collect and maintain accurate, complete and current vaccination records to promote effective and cost-efficient disease prevention and control.
