Child Safety Seat program
The free child safety seats are provided by a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The Injury Prevention Section of the Division of Public Health, Department of Human Resources is responsible for program implementation through out the state.
To get a free car seat the child must reside in Early County and be eligible for Medicaid, WIC, or qualify under the Federal Poverty guidelines. The parent must attend a Child Safety Class to receive the free seat. The classes are held once monthly and are limited in size. Certified Technicians Eddy Burdette and Glynn Floyd of the Blakely Fire Department are teaching the classes and assuring seats are issued that best protect each child.
To see if your child qualifies for this program call the Early County Health Department.
