COMPASS Test
If you have to take the COMPASS test, we strongly recommend that you spend some
time preparing for it. Doing well on the COMPASS may mean that you will not to
have to take Learning Support classes that many students have to take before they
can take regular courses. Preparation materials may also be found on the
Darton College Testing Center website
You may want to purchase a review book. We recommend the book described below.
"Chart Your Success on the COMPASS Test" 3rd edition
Nannette Commander, Georgia State University
Walter Cotter, Floyd College
Carol Callahan, formerly Floyd College
ISBN: 0-89892-302-6
This book is designed to help students understand and prepare for the COMPASS test, review the skills necessary to perform well on the COMPASS, and to take practice tests similar to the COMPASS test. The book is divided into four parts; an Introduction, Mathematics, Composition, and Reading. Practice tests in the book are designed to mimic items and responses as they are on the COMPASS test, and are included in each section. This is by far one of our best-selling titles, used heavily from Hawaii to the East Coast.
